The free account, stated exactly
- ✓ Free from the day you're approved. No card, no trial clock.
- ✓ No expiry date. It isn't a 14-day or annual grant that lapses on its own.
- ✓ Reviewed after 12 months against a target of 10 referred paying customers over that year.
- ✓ If you fall short of that target, the free account can be withdrawn. We'd rather say that here than have it be a surprise.
The 25% commission is separate from the account and is never affected by this review, it is yours on every referral you've already made, whatever happens to the free seat.

How much do I actually earn? +
25% of every invoice a customer you referred pays, for as long as they keep paying. There is no cap on total earnings and no cutoff after the first year, if they are still a customer in year three, you are still earning on year three.
When does commission get paid? +
Each invoice clears a 30-day refund hold first, since a payment can still be refunded in that window. After the hold, earned commission is paid out by manual monthly payout, not an automatic daily transfer.
Is there a minimum before I get paid? +
Yes. Payouts go out once your held balance reaches ₹5,000 or $50, whichever currency your commission is earned in. Anything below that carries over to the next payout run rather than being paid in small amounts.
What counts as a sale? +
Someone you referred becoming a paying Banyan customer, an invoice they actually pay, not a signup or a free trial on its own. Trials are welcome and often lead there, but commission is calculated from paid invoices.
What does the free Banyan account include? +
The full product, on us, from the day you're approved. It has no expiry date printed on it. It is reviewed once a year against the condition below, and stays free for as long as you meet it.
Can the free account be taken away? +
Yes, and we would rather you know that going in than find out later. Twelve months after approval, and every twelve months after that, we look at whether you referred 10 paying customers over that year. If you fall short, the free account can be withdrawn. Your commission on customers you already referred is unaffected either way, that is a separate, permanent entitlement.
I don't have a Banyan account yet. Can I still apply? +
You need one to be approved, the email on your application has to match an existing Banyan account, since that is where your referrals and commission attach. If you don't have one, start a free trial first, it takes a couple of minutes, then apply with that email.
